A durational performance of exquisite tenderness.
In ritual of spectacular visibility, queer black artist, Vanessa German, and her partner Janae Brown will perform a six hour "kiss." Invoking the politics of permission and sacred ordinary space through sensual, intimate, caregiving touch of Black Body to Black Body to affirm deep safety and dimensional sustainability.
German invites visitors to experience the radical normalization of queer black love in public space. Following the performance, Vanessa German will be joined for a conversation by Sarah Gavlak and Pavel Zoubok about what it takes to create, present, and sustain the work of citizen artists like German who create at the intersection of social justice, community and power.
